Bugiri Municipality MP, JEEMA President Honourable Asuman Basalirwa was welcomed by thousands of Bugiri District residents on his victory party. This was after a night of confrontation and running battles between residents and the Police which had earlier advised Hon. Asuman not to allow Hon. Kyagulanyi #Bobiwine to be part of the invited guests.

The function that started at 10am was thronged by long lines of spirited and enthuastic supporters donned in the Red Belts of #People_Power as they waited for #Ghetto President and Chief Guest #Bobiwine who arrived in the company of frail but spirited Mityana Municipality MP #Zaake #Kibedi.
In attendance was the Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Kirunda Kivejinja, Bugweri woman MP aspirant #Babirye #Sarah, Hajj Hajji Lyavala Siragi Samanya among other dignitaries.
In their messages, Hon. Kirunda advised youths to go slow in Politics though encouraged them to participate in Leadership at an early age and that the old guys will give in once their time comes. On his part, Honourable #Bobiwine reminded hon. Kirunda that Political space cannot be given but fought for and so not ready to kneel before Museveni in his quest to liberate Uganda. He thus thanked him for embracing the function and called it a sign of co-existance of multiple ideas peacefully.

Hon. Asuman thanked the people of Bugiri for voting him to Parliament and was proud to tell the that they made the right choice in him. He echoed the people power campaign for every Ugandan to get #Ndagamuntu (National ID) before 2021.

He thanked all those that did whatever they did in spirit, physical and monetary to see him win the Bugiri Municipality seat.

He emphatically thanked Hajj Lyavala for all behind the door campaigns and advise he gave him though both were candidates in the same race. Hajj Lyavala promised to support Honourable Asuman come 2021 because he is a true son of the soil
